Research

Civity draws from and adds to cutting-edge research.

The idea of civity originated from research that confirmed and made sense of practical community experiences. Since then, the evidence base showing that cross-cutting relationships build the social trust that makes for stronger and more resilient communities has steadily grown.

Civity also contributes to ongoing scholarship that reaches different issues and disciplines – such as housing, public health, and law – and highlights the role of culture in addressing a wide range of practical issues and challenges.
