Seeding Civity in Communities

Helping Civity Grow among People in Communities across the U.S.

The Seeding Civity project supports communities across the country that seek to build “social muscle” by growing and sustaining connection across difference. We partner with organizations in each community already working to bridge divides and build community, leveraging and deepening local initiatives currently underway.

Thanks to support from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Civity works with lead partners in each community to connect with key stakeholders and partner organizations. Civity provides tailored trainings and coaching assistance to create and grow opportunities for connection and relationship-building across difference

This work began in 2018 in Louisville, KY, Redwood City, CA, and Hastings, NE. Then, in fall 2019 Civity formed a partnership with Welcoming America, a national nonprofit that helps communities across the country achieve prosperity by becoming more welcoming toward immigrants and all residents, and selected four new communities to receive “Seeding Civity” support.
